How do we do ask the name in English? (Como perguntamos o nome em inglês?

 

It's easy to ask the name in English. (É fácil perguntar o nome em inglês.)

 

What’s your name? (Qual é o seu nome?). 

My name is Ademir. (Meu nome é Ademir.)

        

  Par se pergutar os nomes temos várias formas que chaman a atenção, como o primeiro nome e o sobrenome. nome. Vejamos algumas situações.

           A questão do nome e sobrenome em inglês:
   
    Em inglês o primeiro nome chama-se de First name  e o sobrenome é chamado de Surname.

Geralmente, em documentos oficiais, e até alguns cadastros na internet, o Family name aparece antes do First name. Seguindo o exemplo sobrenome, nome.

. Para perguntar o nome de alguém, em inglês, é nacessário que se use a frase "What is your name?".

  A resposta que deve ser completa,  usamos a frase "My name is...(Meu nome é ...),

Exemplo:

 Jane: What's your name? (Qual é o seu nome?)

Ademir: My name's Ademir. (Meu nome é Ademir.)


           Primeiro nome e sobrenome:

Jane: What's your first name? (Qual é o seu primeiro nome?)

  Pronomes Reflexivos - The Reflexive Pronouns

                 Os Pronomes Reflexivos (Reflexive Pronouns) são usados para indicar que a ação reflexiva recai sobre o próprio sujeito. Nesse caso, o pronome vem logo após o verbo e concorda com o sujeito. Estes pronomes se caracterizam pelas terminações self (no singular) e selves (no plural). Para cada Pronome Pessoal (Personal Pronoun) existe um Pronome Reflexivo (Reflexive Pronoun). Na tabela abaixo estão indicados os Pronomes Pessoais (Personal Pronouns) e os Pronomes Reflexivos (Reflexive Pronouns) aos quais eles se referem.

            Para entender melhor os Pronomes Reflexivos (Reflexive Pronouns) observe o que acontece com a ação do verbo nesta frase:

The boy cut the watermelon with a knife. (O garoto cortou a melancia com uma faca.)

- Quem cortou? o garoto (the boy)

- O que foi cortado? a melancia (the watermelon)

            Nesse exemplo, a ação do verbo recai sobre o objeto, que é a melancia.

Observe, agora, esta outra frase:

The boy cut himself with a knife. (O garoto cortou-se com uma faca.)

- Quem cortou? o garoto (the boy)

- O que foi cortado? o garoto (the boy)

Nesse exemplo, a ação do verbo recai sobre o próprio sujeito que a praticou.

LEMBRAR: O Pronome Reflexivo (Reflexive Pronoun) usado em função reflexiva indica que a ação do verbo recai sobre o próprio sujeito que a praticou. Desse modo, o pronome vem imediatamente após o verbo e concorda com o sujeito.

                                                                             251 Menlove Avenue. The home of George and Mimi Smith, where Lennon lived for most of his childhood and adolescence.

               Lennon was born in war-time England, on 9 October 1940 at Liverpool Maternity Hospital, to Julia and Alfred Lennon, a merchant seaman who was away at the time of his son's birth.
